Temperature Controlled Shipping Process

The shipping process entails the removal of product from storage to labeling and packout of product into the shipping system. Depending on the product temperature range and shipping system, the shipping system may require the use of thermal coolants, which may require proper conditioning in order for the shipping system to maintain the required temperatures during distribution.

Coolant Preconditioning Equipment for Shipping

Typical equipment used during the shipping process are as follows:

  • Refrigerator (product or coolant storage)
  • Freezer (product or coolant storage)
  • Thermal Chamber (product or coolant storage)
  • Shipping System (product storage)

All of these equipment are recommended to be qualified and validated prior to commercial shipment of product in order to achieve a high degree of confidence that product is stored at the required temperatures and shipping systems can maintain the mandated storage temperatures.

What can Lean Biologix (LBX) do to help?

The LBX team has extensive experience with equipment and shipping qualifications. LBX can develop, evaluate, and execute equipment and shipping qualifications for a customer’s review while being compliant with the current industry and regulatory standards. LBX has helped successfully qualify equipment for product or coolant storage and shipping system for product protection from physical damage and challenging thermal environments during distribution. For more information on shipping qualification, see the Design Qualification (DQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), and Performance Qualification (PQ) tabs under Supply Chain Testing Services on the LBX website.
